Action, that is what is needed.
It’s a funny old world. Only a day has passed and already, people are kinda getting over the whole Trump as president fiasco. Apart from all the millennials protesting right now.
When I say getting over. I mean accepting it, people can only cry and vent their anger for so long. Now accepting things as they are does make us feel better, looking at the situation in a positive manner makes us think anything is possible.
But here is the thing.
Only a few days ago, this same man was branded a Racist, sexist lunatic bla bla bla.
Nothing has changed, he’s still that same lunatic.
As a Scotsman living in Vietnam, I can only see what is in front of my eyes. It’s not pretty, it’s not encouraging and like many, can see America losing all respect as a nation.
Over the last 2 years, i’ve made many friends with Americans. Democratic and Republicans. (That sounds like a cliche I know!)
They all have one thing in common though, they are kind and generous.
Good people who are being lied to and manipulated by the politicians and press in their country.
When I built homes in Nepal, the main donors were Americans. Not Scotland, which i’m embarrassed to say.
I actual think America is great, when it comes to innovation, can do attitude and general approaching things with a positive attitude. I didn’t get why people listened to Trump wanting to make it great again. Like come on! what a cheeky bastard. He’s clearly not been to 3rd world countries and seen what wasn’t great.
What’s not great. Dying when it can be prevented. Sleeping rough when you can build homes. Having to fight to survive daily. Not having the freedom to do what you want, when you want.
Never forget In the west we are fortunate.
Why I think Trump won
That simple. America, just like the rest of the western world are pampered. Let’s be honest. We pay for water that falls from the sky and covers 71% of the planet. Spend crazy amounts on fancy coffee each day and literally want to do as little as possible for huge rewards.
And seeing the potential of losing our lifestyles, that most of us were born into, makes us angry.
How dare another country want to have what we have, and then actually compete against us.
This arrogance is what will defeat us in the west.
Trump just tapped into every single fear you (Americans) had. And the majority believed his rhetoric, this is a fact.
He’s the boss. And it’s not gonna change anytime soon.
I remember reading Trumps books a few years ago, when I ran my business in Scotland.
He was a ruthless bastard. Not someone to look up to really. Unless you wanted to emulate being a ruthless bastard.
Look at the data from the election results.
Millennials (the young folk) voted for Hillary not trump. I am in NO WAY a Hillary fan BTW.
However her approach was more positive, and certainly had solutions to the peoples concerns. Her family and connections and general shenanigans is what lost her the election.
Just like in Scotlands referendum vote for Independence in September 2014. The millennials voted to leave the UK. Because we see through the bullshit tactics from old school politicians all these other out of touch clowns that spread fear on news outlets.
The reality was, we as Millennials were simply outnumbered.
Then the same happened with BREXIT! bla bla bla…
As millennials, I do think a lot are just work shy, do nothing, get loads for nothing dickheads. I’ll not get into entitlement. That’s for another day.
What these Millennials do have that is different from even just 10 years ago is a phone in their hand that is a TV station not only can share their feelings 24/7, but it’s LIVE and unedited.
They have the ability to change the world. One person at a time. This is true!
With no fear work together
I know change is around the corner. It will likely see lots of trouble for Americans and likely some parts of the world will be impacted by this new President.
So consider this when pushing for change.
Share your feelings, take action, let the politicians know how you feel. DAILY
Don’t get nasty about it. Don’t fight. Don’t hate.
Be smart. Be strong. Be patient.
Accept the world is changing and that it’s Asia and the BRICS nations that will soon be the number 1 powers in the world.
Most Asian’s love America and the culture it’s created. They want to work with, collaborate and partner with you. It’s an opportunity. TAKE IT.
Help and encourage those who suffer, don’t create a “them and us” society.
How do you think teams are successful in sport. Normally the leadership is solid with the players having a bond and common goal like no other.
Come together as one for your county. Be a team, like no other.
One person is never going to be enough.
Politicians will not listen to one person. But if enough individuals stand up and fight for there rights. Change always happens.
Remember this happened with the LGBT community. Obama was against same sex couples marriage initially. But people never gave up and fought for their rights. Then Obama listened.
Politicians eventually go with the majority. It’s the only way they win, by agreeing with the masses.
Be that person that steps forward. Don’t be scared about what others think.
Get that fire in your belly and put it to intelligent use.
Don’t just moan about how shit stuff is.
GO MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAILY
Everything is possible. That is why America and the West is so great. Remember that.
Keep it real
